I am an ICT strategy and governance leader with extensive experience in driving institution-wide digital planning, governance, and performance management in a complex higher-education environment. Currently serving as Manager: Planning and Governance in the Office of the CIO at the University of the Witwatersrand, I lead ICT planning, governance, executive reporting, and performance functions to ensure that technology investments are aligned with institutional strategy and deliver measurable value.
My work focuses on translating strategy into execution. I coordinate ICT strategic and operational planning, oversee governance structures and committee processes, and produce executive dashboards and reports that support informed decision-making at the senior management and council level. I work closely with ICT leadership, institutional stakeholders, and governance bodies to strengthen accountability, improve service delivery, and embed sound ICT governance practices aligned to frameworks such as COBIT, King IV, and public-sector compliance requirements.
Beyond strategy and governance, I provide operational support to the Office of the CIO, including procurement documentation, business case development, internal communications, staff engagement initiatives, and continuous improvement of planning and reporting processes. I am particularly committed to building efficient, well-documented, and sustainable ways of working through the development of standard operating procedures and process optimisation.
My professional background spans ICT governance, learning technologies, academic development, and skills development, which informs my human-centred approach to leadership and digital transformation. I hold a PhD in Information Systems, researching women’s experiences of hybrid work in South Africa’s telecommunications sector, with a strong interest in digital equity, the future of work, and inclusive policy.
I actively participate in sector dialogues on ICT governance, digital strategy, AI readiness, data literacy, leadership, and wellbeing, and I am passionate about advancing ethical, sustainable, and inclusive digital transformation in higher education and the public sector.
