Background

Mahlodi Kgatle is a vibrant social entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and founder of Speakingdom, a Pan-African communication skills company, creating impact through the transformative power of communication. With a background in marketing strategy, she is a University of Pretoria BCom Honours graduate and alumnus of prestigious leadership programs, including the Obama Young African Leaders Initiative and the U.S. Consulate African Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum.

She found her voice beyond the borders of corporate marketing strategy, onto training stages, where she and her team empower audiences ranging from executives to youth through public speaking training, program facilitation, workplace readiness, business communications, and nation-building programs. Speakingdom’s impact, anchored in the UN Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, 8, and 10, has positively impacted more than 4,000 lives across corporate, academic, and civil society sectors in Africa with a client base including Curro Holdings,
Zutari, RCL Foods, and the University of Johannesburg to name a few.

Recognised globally for her thought leadership, including her TED Talk ‘Why Your Voice Is Your Signature Sound,’ Mahlodi believes that nothing can stop a person who finally accesses the power in their voice.

Through Speakingdom, Mahlodi has earned accolades such as the Momentum Khuthaza Award for Innovation, recognition as a Top 3 finalist for the BMF Young Woman Leader Award, a Top 5 finalist for Bloom Marketing Start-Up of the Year, Sunday World Young Leaders of 2025, and a Top 4 Education and Literature Brand selected out of 2,000 African brands by the Top Youth-Owned Brands Awards 2025.
