I am a financial data science researcher working at the nexus of academia, industry, and policy, where I drive innovation in markets, strengthen financial systems, and shape the future of intelligent finance. My contributions extend to global policy platforms, including the G20 Presidency delegate on financial innovation (TechSprint) and international climate policy dialogues with central bank governors. Being Fellow of the South African Reserve Bank and Fudan University, my work reflects a consistent pursuit of linking cutting-edge research with practical solutions that advance inclusive and sustainable finance.
In academic publishing, I serve as Editor of the Investment Analysts Journal (Taylor & Francis) and as Associate Editor for several leading international journals with Wiley, Elsevier, SAGE, and Springer Nature. My editorial leadership has been recognized through the Springer Nature Editor of Distinction Award, highlighting my impact in advancing global research excellence.
My research spans AI & ML, fintech, digital finance, data science, inter disciplinary studies, and climate linked financial intelligence. These projects, supported by competitive grants from institutions such as the World Bank, WTO studies, PEP Canada, Max Planck Society Germany, African Engineering and Technology Network (AFRETEC), National Research Foundation (South Africa), South African Reserve Bank (SARB), Competition Commission of South Africa, Russian Science Foundation, and others, have informed policy discussions and received global media visibility.
Beyond research, I am committed to building future capacity. I co-designed a pioneering Master’s program in Financial Technology to prepare the next generation of professionals with the analytical and strategic skills to navigate an evolving financial ecosystem. I also collaborate closely with fintech startups, central banks, and financial institutions, ensuring that academic insights are translated into meaningful, real-world outcomes.
