Over 23 years gained real-world knowledge experience has allowed Rashid to develop through the ranks of IT operations, security operations, IT risk, security internal controls, and internal audit, through training such as CISM, CISA, ISO 27001, ITIL, COBIT and others. He has experience in the following business sectors: banking, insurance, telecommunications and retail with complex business ecosystems including some global. Holding various leadership roles has allowed him the opportunity to grow people and provide a learning environment. He is passionate about developing and deriving solutions to adequately protect business systems, detect, defend and recover from cyber attacks or events by developing capabilities using governance, people, processes and technology. Rashid is currently playing a lead role in his company’s cyber incident response plan, which was developed by his team, with a decision-making and coordination capacity. Rashid and his team also defined and measure KPIs for the cyber security operations environment to establish its effectiveness. In addition, he has enabled business through programmes and projects such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), 3rd party risk and others to do business securely. In addition, he writes meaningful board reports, reflecting on global cyber security challenges in reaction to Liberty to enable the board to make informed decisions about cyber security as a risk.
