Ashleigh is a self described privacy nerd and dreamer with a passion for learning and finding pragmatic solutions to organizational problems. Ashleigh is the global Vice President Data Privacy and Protection at NTT Ltd. and is currently based in her hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa, where she lives with her husband, Hein, and two cats. Ashleigh’s portfolio at NTT involves setting the strategic direction and management of data privacy and protection initiatives and implementation across its global operations as well as the business’ core functions and technology solutions. Ashleigh believes in finding innovative ways for organizations to build trust and competitive advantage through the ethical use of data and technology.
Ashleigh is recognized as a Fellow in Information Privacy, and completed her MBA in 2020 at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, where she achieved recognition as the top student in the Mastering Strategic Foresight elective. In addition, Ashleigh holds several professional certifications in data protection and cybersecurity. Ashleigh previously served as an IAPP Johannesburg KnowledgeNet Chapter Chair and was a member of the IAPP’s Privacy Engineering Section Advisory Board.
